Uncontrollable pissing and shitting is the full circle of life, so what we do in between better count more than that. The Stones have figured that out, and had the good fortune to recover from when drugs were quality instead of spiked.. However, I've no intention of standing in a long queue, though the walk to the subways is enticing.

Yes, I think the entire show and queuing was in the end a warmup and lead up to that walk to the subway. I didn’t even realize it until I wrote this.

And for sure, making it count in the in between is what matters most

Unfortunately the quality and process was NOT as we would like to imagine. The list of deaths from the past is not so great either: Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix just to name a couple. I live across the street from a mural that commemorates the Hendrix family with an image of Jimi in the upper right hand corner. All around the building, and in it, that the mural is painted on people have died due to fentanyl. I am often baffled and often sad and despondent about the complexities and ironies of life and death.

The moment in between is so brief, that life and death are almost the same.

I was hoping there was an otherworldly portal somewhere. I only read your posts on Substack, I don’t read anyone else’s. 🤔

Your acknowledgment of the street scene is most welcome! I live very close to the epicentre of the scene in Vancouver Canada. Daily I see what fentanyl addiction has created in The Belly of the Beast, which is my home. I tell people about it , but it is hard to convey. A callousness has infected our consciousness due to the propensity and volume of the chaos plus the perceived belief that nothing can be done. I believe we can change this. I believe humans are capable of solving this and making the world livable for all.

Thanks for that, Peter. I believe so too. The biggest obstacle is how desensitized and blind to it that we are

Thank you for a brilliant commentary on our time... aging politicians and rock stars while humanity festers at the fringes.

Thanks, Eleni. This is one that I was just figuring out along the way as I wrote. Didn't know where I was going with it until I got to the very end...

This was a giggle and a sigh (for street people) of a read. I never have seen the Stones live, but I saw the Beatles twice. I liked your comparison to the exodus from Egypt, but it also reminded me of the Islamic Hajj.

I am hooked on 3 German bands with Folk elements: Faun, dArtagan, and Feuerschwanz. There is also others such as Wardruna, Patty Gurdy (bit more pop), and several Finnish acts. Enjoy!
