Thanks, I appreciate that. If you're referring to Unstuck in Time, I saw that too recently. So it goes indeed. I think that phrase appears over a hundred times in Slaughterhouse Five. It's brutal.

It's the right time for a piece on mass hypnosis / manipulation (I guess it's always the right time). I'm all about rambling, so nothing to forgive there.

So it goes… each time someone or something dies. I recently read Slaughterhouse 5.

This is fantastic. I think I have grumpy-old-man syndrome. Maybe, I'm just tired. But, yeah. Birthdays.

I was watching a doc on Kurt Vonnegut and I think "So it goes..." will be my new mantra. I'm working on a piece about mass hypnosis/manipulation. Forgive the rambling. Great piece.

Oh damn, I just realized I didn't respond to your comment as an embedded reply so you probably didn't see it. It's the first reply.

Otherwise your voice sounds great and the sound effect at the end was my favorite part.

I'll try to take this as a compliment and not an indictment of my writing :)

The melody at the end too what was it?

The opening and closing music is from a piano piece I wrote

Oh wow. Reminds me of Theo Aggelopoulos soundtrack Eternity and a Day. Has that atmosphere.

Thanks, that's high praise. I don't remember having seen the movie but I've listened to that soundtrack countless times

Rituals have grown tiresome to me, an anti-social old lady. Wishing "happy birthday" to dead authors, artists and rock stars on Facebook seems pointless. Myths are forever with us, and I hope your work here, both written and podcasts, continue.

Indeed, I'm always amazed by how many people do so, when most probably share your view. Thanks for your kind words, Grim. I really appreciate that. Here's to myths and mythery

I was listening to the voice… sorry was there a question? Lol! Great voice. This is what I call a radio voice.

Well said/written!

I do like my silence but whenever I get it, I end up falling asleep, so this is helpful for late night “readers”!

Not sure how others feel but my one suggestion would be to slow down a bit as you read it.

Appreciate the input. And if I slow it down enough, it may help as a sleep aid!

Great Cons. The audio sound way better than the original AI generated voice I heard randomly on your first piece.

That's a low bar but I'll take it! :)

There are people on substack who should not go near a mic. You’re NOT one of them.

So much to say here. Felt like a dummy for never noticing the audio format before. Maybe that says more about me; rush to judgement, self deprecating, and minimal memory.

I very much enjoyed the audio format, helped me get over the big words quicker. I'm very impressed with the professional quality of both the production and your voice. Guess I remember a far less serious version of you. Guess the 90's were a much less serious time.

As for your words... “Try Again. Fail again. Fail better.” Yes, yes, yes!

I appreciate you and what you're doing, thanks my friend!

Thanks, Ben, but I'm hardly a more serious person! I can see how you'd think that by the audio though. Like most people, I find listening to my voice troubling, so I probably end up putting on somber airs without meaning to. You've got experience with putting yourself out there so maybe you can relate (or at least advise). I'll get there...

Not my words, by the way. Those are Samuel Beckett's. Strong words to fail by.

I never fall asleep while reading your work, of course!

I wouldn't take that as an insult. I fall asleep reading every night
